Mic Clark was born into a large Irish musical family in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland. He began his musical journey on violin then moved onto piano during his childhood. It was in his mid 20s that Mic picked up the guitar, singing at home or at nights out on the Glasgow live music scene where he met local musicians and began writing songs.
Singing harmonies with his cousin Olivia Ennemoser they quickly developed a unique sound and hooked up with other musical friends, going under the name Acoustic Butterfly, putting on gigs around town, gaining a solid local following and great reviews wherever they played.
In 2010 Mic and Olivia were joined by percussionist Ian Murray at the Celtic Connections Danny Kyle open stage where they played five original songs and were selected as finalists that year alongside songwriter Rachel Sermanni, fiddle player Seonaid Aitken, guitarist Ben Powell and trad bands Kilairum and Lurach.
